POLICY DIALOGUE – Social Cohesion in SA Mining, SAIIA
We participated in the South African Institute of International Affairs’ (SAIIA) panel discussion on “State-owned Enterprises in Africa – Challenges and Prospects”. The dialogue forms part of SAIIA’s Governance of Africa’s Resources Project (GARP) and ran on the sidelines of the Annual Mining Indaba in Cape Town. We spoke from a transformational futurist perspective on the trends shaping social cohesion in the extraction sector, and the need for government and business to consider the social dimension of the debate during the policy-making process.
The event was attended by representatives from business and government, academia and the press.
